We are extremely excited to be part of SDSN Youth’s #YouthSolutions Report 2018 which showcases 50 leading youth-led innovations.
What is it?
Managed by the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network - Youth (SDSN Youth) in collaboration with the SDSN, the Youth Solutions platform is a strategic project that aims to showcase and support transformative youth-led initiatives in business, education, charity, and research which highlight the innovative approach that young people are taking in solving the multiple challenges of sustainable development.
As part of the Youth Solutions platform, SDSN Youth publishes a yearly Youth Solutions Report, whose first edition was launched in January 2017. The Report identifies 50 youth-led solutions which have demonstrated the clarity and viability of their strategy; their potential to be scaled and expanded, and their capacity to contribute to positive environmental and social outcomes.
Who’s behind the Youth Solutions Report?
Launched in 2015, SDSN Youth is the global youth division of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN), an initiative for the United Nations directed by Professor Jeffrey D. Sachs. SDSN Youth aims to educate a global movement of young people on sustainable development and support them in creating innovative and sustainable solutions to global development challenges. SDSN Youth works alongside policymakers and receives assistance from field experts.
The 50 solutions were selected from 200+ submissions in 60+ countries!
THE SDGs and Youth
In 2015, 17 Sustainable Development Goals were adopted by 193 UN Member States. The SDGs will shape the global agenda for sustainable development for the next fifteen years and beyond. Achieving these ambitious goals will require an unprecedented mobilization of the energy and skills of young people, and recognition of their significant role in promoting them.
