Who we are
Water Access Rwanda Ltd (157 KN 2 Ave, Kigali) runs wateraccess.rw and amazi.rw and is responsible for your personal data. NCSA Data Controller Registration No. 001/1584/0824. Our Data Protection Officer: dpo@wateraccess.rw, +250 788 194 000.
What we collect on this website
When you use our contact or enquiry forms: your name, email address and message. When you visit: cookies and basic analytics (pages visited, device and browser type), only as you allow in the cookie banner.
What we collect as a customer
Your name, phone and mobile-money number, email and any messages you send us. For surveys, your answers about water use and satisfaction.

- With your consent: to improve our services through surveys and send you news
Legal basis
Your contract with us, our legal obligations, our legitimate interest in running a reliable service, and your consent for cookies, surveys and marketing messages.
Who we share with
Payment providers (MTN, Irembo, banks); our hosting and software providers (Africa on Spot in Rwanda; Wix, Microsoft, mWater, Bitrix24 and Manager.io abroad); regulators when the law requires; and courts or bailiffs for unpaid debts. Funders and researchers receive only anonymised or aggregated data. We never sell your data.
Storage outside Rwanda
This website is hosted by Wix (United States and Israel). Some of our other systems are hosted in the European Union, the United States and Australia. We protect this data with contracts and security safeguards, and we have applied to NCSA for authorisation to store data outside Rwanda.
How long we keep it
- Website enquiries: 2 years after our last contact
- Contract and payment records: 10 years after your contract ends, as tax law requires
- Household and survey details: anonymised 5 years after your contract ends
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, object to or restrict its use, get a copy, or withdraw your consent at any time, including changing your cookie settings. Email dpo@wateraccess.rw and we will reply within 30 days. You can also complain to NCSA's Data Protection and Privacy Office: dpo.gov.rw or 9080.
